MMRF hosts an annual Permaculture Design Course in the Spring of each year.

Permaculture is a whole-systems method of design that organizes ideas, strategies and techniques from agriculture, appropriate technology, renewable energy, natural building, economics, sustainable development and other disciplines into a pattern of mutuallly supportive relationships. By using principles from nature to thoughtfully integrate land, water, plants, people, animals, shelter, technologies and community, permaculture gives us the tools to provide for the well-being of people while protecting our natural resources.

This certificate course uses the internationally standardized 72 hour curriculum. In 2006 our instructors were Toby Hemenway and Penny Livingston. Toby taught again in 2007, this time accompanied by Larry Santoyo. In 2008 Albert Bates and Andrew Goodheart Brown were the instructors, and they will be leading the course again in 2009. Check back later to find out the dates for the 2009 course.
